Position Overview As Director of Application Engineering, you will lead the development of customer‑facing applications that bring eGain’s AI knowledge management capabilities to life. You’ll oversee the creation of intuitive, powerful interfaces and applications that enable customer service agents, knowledge managers, and business users to harness the full power of enterprise knowledge and AI.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the engineering teams responsible for eGain’s core applications including knowledge authoring, search and discovery, agent desktop, and analytics

Drive the application architecture strategy, ensuring modern, maintainable, and performant user experiences

Build and inspire engineering teams that are passionate about creating exceptional user experiences and solving real business problems

Own the technical execution from concept through delivery, ensuring applications meet the highest standards of quality and usability

Collaborate closely with product management, UX design, and customer success to deliver applications that delight users and drive business value

Champion modern application development practices including agile methodologies, CI/CD, and automated testing

Foster innovation in AI‑powered user experiences, including conversational interfaces, intelligent recommendations, and proactive insights

Ensure application security, accessibility, and compliance with enterprise standards

What We’re Looking For

10+ years of software engineering experience with 5+ years leading application engineering teams

Strong expertise in modern web application frameworks and technologies (React, Angular, or similar)

Experience building enterprise SaaS applications with complex workflows and rich user interfaces

Deep understanding of application architecture patterns, API design, and front‑end/back‑end integration

Proven ability to balance user experience excellence with technical excellence

Track record of delivering high‑quality applications on schedule in fast‑paced environments

Strong product sensibility and user empathy

Excellent collaboration skills and experience working cross‑functionally with product and design teams

Passion for leveraging AI and machine learning to create intelligent application experiences
