Business Development Manager – Litigation & Investigations
Locations: Atlanta, New York, Washington D.C.

It starts with our people, which is why we need a Business Development Manager to join our Marketing and Business Development team to develop and deliver innovative, high‑impact business development and marketing strategies that drive growth, strengthen client relationships, and enhance the firm’s profile across key practice areas, industry sectors, and regions.
Responsibilities
Develop marketing and business development plans for key Litigation & Investigations Practice Groups.
Liaise with lawyers and lead meetings/calls to identify opportunities, aligning initiatives with strategy.
Work closely with partners on personal BD plans, ensuring alignment with department priorities and executing them.
Lead on regional, practice, sector and other BD initiatives, including global and cross‑practice initiatives.
Set and manage budgets and guidelines.
Manage and lead complex practice group RFPs and proposals, oversee production of pitches, capability statements, and post‑pitch reviews.
Plan and oversee events, sponsorships, and conferences, identifying networking and client engagement opportunities with measurable ROI.
Lead on brand profiling projects, sponsorship, thought‑leadership and other campaigns from start to finish, driving collaboration and innovation.
Manage internal and external communications such as PR opportunities, website and social media.
Support cross‑selling and strengthen key client relationships with partners and lawyers.
Oversee directory and awards submissions, drafting and managing the process.
Delegate tasks to the Marketing Hub and other BD team members for efficient delivery.
Support priority client accounts, align with firmwide strategies and foster cross‑department collaboration.
Manage membership of professional, business and trade bodies to maximise value.
Line‑manage junior staff as assigned.
Adhere to best practices, suggest efficiency improvements and share knowledge of industry trends.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Business Development Directors and Associate Directors across global offices.
Partners, fee earners and professional staff across all practice areas and regions.
Global Marketing team.
Knowledge and Innovation teams.
Skills and Experience Required
Degree educated; a marketing or business qualification preferred.
At least 5 years’ experience in marketing or business development, ideally within professional services.
Knowledge and experience of Litigation & Investigations preferred.
Excellent influencing, collaborating across all levels, and professional handling of internal and external clients.
Strategic thinker with strong commercial acumen.
Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
Exceptional written and verbal communication; proven ability to present to key stakeholders.
Highly organized, proactive and detail‑oriented.
Confident in managing multiple projects and deadlines across stakeholders and jurisdictions.
Positive, motivated, proactive and adaptable with a strong sense of ownership.
Strong understanding of client relationship management and BD best practices.
Ability to work under pressure with changing priorities.
Effective delegation and supervision of junior team members.
Use of data to influence and inform decisions.
Flexible working hours as needed; regular reporting to scheduled times.
Compensation Pursuant to the New York and Washington D.C. pay transparency laws, BCLP is posting a reasonable estimate of a compensation range for this position. At the time of posting, the estimated New York range is $140,000 to $219,000 and the estimated Washington D.C. range is $134,000 to $210,000. Additional compensation may include an annual discretionary bonus.
