About the Role Kitsap Credit Union is searching for a Vice President of Digital Innovation. The VP of Digital Innovation is a visionary leader responsible for driving transformative change across the credit union. This role blends strategic foresight, design thinking, strategic alignment, and operational execution to foster a culture of innovation that enhances member experience, operational efficiency, and long-term growth. The VP of Digital Innovation will lead with a digital-first mindset and drive cross-functional initiatives, incubate new ideas, and champion emerging technologies to ensure the credit union remains agile and future-ready.

$173,633.98 - $217,042.48 depending on experience

Bonus Target:

15% potential incentive of base pay

Principal Accountabilities

Develops and executes a multi-year digital first innovation roadmap aligned with the credit union’s strategic goals.

Identifies emerging trends, technologies, and member behaviors to inform innovation priorities.

Partners with external providers to develop a digital ecosystem and drive ideation sessions, innovation labs, and pilot programs to test new concepts.

Works with leaders of business units to prioritize and recommend solutions to address gaps in service, product, or experience through all member touchpoints.

Works with executive stakeholders and appropriate committees to align digital product (online and mobile banking) and service roadmaps with current and future business needs.

Works with Strategic Planning Office and key stakeholders to resource projects appropriately (budget, testing, training of staff, education of members when necessary).

Facilitates regular meetings of the Digital Strategy Team to assess requests for new opportunities, enhancements, and resources by prioritization of ROI, strategic priority, and/or impact on member experience.

Manages key vendor relationships, including budget adherence, SLAs, contract renewals, and negotiations.

Establishes and meets Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and strategic performance measurements for the Digital Channels products and services.

Ensures technical due diligence is completed on third-party solutions prior to recommendation or integration.

Responsible for the performance management of staff, to include daily feedback, coaching and mentoring; administration of appraisals that are timely and meaningful. Identify and address deficiencies constructively. Continually supports, encourages, and motivates team members toward ongoing growth and development.

Cultivate team engagement by fostering a collaborative environment, setting clear expectations, and initiating strategic programs that promote ownership, innovation, and alignment with organizational goals.

Ability to self-motivate and develop a strong knowledge of the credit union’s products, services, policies, procedures, and culture.

Ability to provide business and competitive analytics to multi-level audiences across the organization.

Effective cross-functional team leadership, relationship building, influence, and negotiation skills.

Experience building strategic roadmaps, project plans, and management of associated budget.

Exceptional organizational, analytical, and written/oral communications skills that are demonstrated through ability to collect pertinent data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions as well as formulate ideas and recommendations to multiple levels of the organization.

Demonstrates ability to manage complex projects involving both in-house and third-party vendors.

Understands, models, and represents KCU’s core values.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree, or equivalent work experience required.

10+ years of progressive leadership experience, ideally in financial services, fintech, or innovation roles.

Proven track record of launching successful products, services, or transformation initiatives.

Skilled in shaping digital product strategies by aligning member needs, business goals, market trends and technical feasibility.

Deep understanding of member-centric design, agile methodologies, and emerging technologies.

Exceptional communication, influence, and storytelling skills.

Passion for purpose-driven innovation and cooperative values.

Preferred Qualifications and Requirements

Masters Business Administration (MBA) or equivalent preferred.

Supervisory Status This position supervises others and is responsible for being results oriented, collaborative, effective at delegation and embracing the organization’s core values, ensuring team effectiveness.

Working Conditions This position will be required to work in an office environment with moderate noise levels, and, with or without reasonable accommodation is required:

Must be able to remain in a stationary position for a minimum of 75% of the time

Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machines

The person in this position frequently communicates with peers, supervisors, vendors, and employees to exchange accurate information and answer questions

Works in an indoor office environment but expected to attend meetings in buildings that require travel in outdoor weather conditions
