Position Reports to The Senior Tax Accountant is a member of the Tax team, reporting to the Supervisor or Manager.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and review federal, state, and local tax returns for a variety of clients, including individuals, partnerships, corporations, and trusts.
Ensure timely and accurate filing of tax returns, staying up to date with changing tax laws and regulations.
Identify tax‑saving opportunities while ensuring compliance with all tax reporting requirements.
Provide tax planning and consulting services to clients, helping them minimize tax liabilities and achieve their business or personal financial goals.
Advise clients on tax‑efficient strategies for business formation, acquisitions, restructuring, and succession planning.
Collaborate with partners and other senior staff to deliver integrated solutions for complex tax issues.
Serve as a primary point of contact for clients on tax‑related matters, offering proactive advice and fostering strong relationships.
Communicate complex tax concepts and strategies clearly and concisely to clients, ensuring they understand the implications of their tax decisions.
Conduct in‑depth research on tax laws, regulations, and rulings to support client needs and provide well‑founded advice.
Stay current on changes to federal, state, and local tax laws, as well as emerging tax trends that may impact clients.
Lead and mentor junior staff and interns, providing guidance on technical tax matters and offering ongoing professional development opportunities.
Review the work of junior accountants and provide constructive feedback to ensure high‑quality work and continuous improvement.
Prepare and present tax reports for clients, including financial summaries and potential risks or opportunities.
Collaborate with other departments and partners to ensure the delivery of comprehensive services to clients.
Core Schedule · Monday – Friday, Saturday’s during tax season at agreed‑upon schedule between the Senior Tax Accountant and Tax Supervisor or Manager.
o Additional support may be needed at times outside of the core schedule. These requests will be made sufficiently in advance for planning purposes.
Physical Requirements · Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
· Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
CPA license or other relevant professional certification preferred.
2+ years of tax experience, with a focus on compliance, planning, and consulting within a public accounting firm.
Factors to Success
Extensive knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws, including tax return preparation and tax planning strategies.
Experience with tax preparation software, including proficiency with tools such as UltraTax, CCH Engagement, Thomson Reuters products.
Strong research, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex tax issues to clients and team members.
Proven leadership capabilities, including the ability to manage projects and mentor junior staff.
Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline‑driven environment.
