Overview
Bon Secours Medical Group is seeking a psychiatrist who will provide direct patient care in behavioral health and chemical dependency units at Bon Secours Community Hospital, following CMS, Joint Commission, OASAS, and OMH standards. The candidate will also offer consultation liaison to medical floors, nursing homes, and the emergency department, and perform telepsychiatry services with St. Anthony Community Hospital.
Responsibilities
Provide primary patient care on inpatient mental health and chemical dependency units
Attend court proceedings as needed for legal proceedings associated with patient care
Serve as consultant and liaison with medical floors, emergency department, and nursing homes
Provide tele‑psychiatric services with St. Anthony Community Hospital
Provide on‑call services one night a week and one weekend a month
Complete peer reviews with insurance carriers to determine medical necessity and prior authorizations for medications/care
Oversee compliance with electronic records and accurate billing for each encounter
Work with administrators regarding policy, procedure, utilization, and productivity
Meet Psychiatric Core Measures accurately and timely
Complete psychiatric evaluations and discharge summaries within 24 hours
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications / Requirements
Experience: Completion of psychiatric residency; inpatient treatment preferred
Education: M.D. with board certification in psychiatry and/or addiction preferred
