We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Business Development to lead our efforts in expanding our business, with a special focus on nonprofit and small business clients. This pivotal role involves building the function from the ground up, generating leads, and achieving our revenue targets. The successful candidate will be a strategic thinker with a proven track record in business development and a deep understanding of the professional services industry.

Job Description

Develop and execute a comprehensive business development strategy

Identify new market opportunities and lead the efforts in pursuing these markets to enhance revenue growth

Cultivate strong relationships with potential clients, stakeholders, and partners to build a robust pipeline of business opportunities

Lead negotiations and help close deals

Establish, and manage the business development team, setting the foundation for future firm growth

Build an efficient and technology-enabled sales process

Collaborate with partners to align the business development strategy with the firm’s broader strategic goals

Monitor market trends and competitor activity to inform strategic decisions and maintain a competitive edge.

Provide regular reports on progress and forecasts to partners, offering insights and recommendations for continuous improvement.

Travel to conferences as well as other sales and networking opportunities, as needed

Compensation Information:

Salary commensurate with experience

Competitive commission structure

Qualifications

Proven experience in a business development leadership role, preferably in the HR consulting industry or a related field.

Demonstrated success in generating leads, winning new business, and meeting or exceeding revenue targets.

Strong understanding of the nonprofit sector and experience in developing strategic partnerships in this area.

Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.

Strategic thinker with a results-oriented approach and the ability to operate at both strategic and tactical levels.

Entrepreneurial mindset, with a preference for taking action and initiative
