Columbus is looking for a Principal Technical Architect, D365 (CRM/CE) to join our growing team. In this position you will collaborate with internal team members and key client stakeholders during all phases of project delivery. The Principal Technical Architect will contribute to pre‑sales activities including client/prospect meetings and project estimation, conceptual and functional designs. Focusing on the Microsoft Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement platform, this individual will play a critical technical/functional role in a variety of D365 CE and FO projects that include: D365 CE Deployment Planning D365 CE Implementations Customization/Configuration System Integration Design D365 FO Dual Write Integration Data Migration Planning/Design Power Platform Development This is a customer‑facing role that requires strong communication and problem‑solving skills and the ability to thrive in a team environment. Members of the Columbus delivery team are detail‑oriented, able to multi‑task and are extremely focused on customer success. The ability to prioritize multiple demands and collaborate effectively in a remote setting is essential. Note: This is a remote opportunity and can be located from anywhere in the United States. #LI-Remote. Responsibilities

Drive discovery workshops with prospects and customers to demonstrate product capabilities and gather business requirements. Lead and participate in discovery analysis meetings with customers to understand current business processes. Serve as advocate for adherence to standards and best practice. Collaborate with sales team and project managers to define the roadmap and milestones for each project. On all assigned engagements the Solution Architect should own the proposed solution, work closely with all team members and remain engaged with the client. Understand the capabilities of the delivery team and provide design guidance and support as needed. Work with customers and internal teams on infrastructure architecture support. Provide and/or develop detailed design specifications. Craft RFP responses, architecture diagrams, risk/assumption logs, and value articulation (ROI, timeline, cost drivers). Exhibit excellent verbal and written communication skills; with flexibility to work in a fast‑paced, process‑oriented environment. Implement and configure Dynamics CRM/CE per customer requirements. Mentor teams on ALM: Azure DevOps repos, pipelines, solution segmentation, automated testing, and deployment gates. Assist in software upgrades, including importing data, configuring forms and designing dashboards. Design and write workflows to streamline business processes. Write process documentation, user acceptance testing scripts and user manuals. Test software, communicate with (and sometimes manage) offshore development staff. Train and support CRM end users. Requirements

10+ years of professional experience within a consultancy environment with proven Microsoft Dynamics 365 CRM experience. 10+ years of experience as either a technical lead, technical architect or solution architect with Dynamics 365 CRM. 5+ years of pre‑sales experience. A minimum of 5 completed full implementations of Microsoft Dynamics 365 CRM. A minimum of 2 completed full implementations of Microsoft Dynamics 365 F&O/F&SCM. Proven implementation experience in regard to Dual Write integration. Extensive knowledge and understanding of the technical side of Dynamics 365 CE solutions. Design and optimize CE & F&O architecture, including data alignment, process harmonization, and extensibility patterns for both platforms. Lead integration and performance strategy, covering Dual‑write orchestration, fit/gap analysis, trade‑offs, and scalability. In‑depth knowledge of the following modules: Sales, Service, Marketing, Social Engagement, USD, PSA, Field Service. Strong presentation skills leading to sales process such as shaping solution approaches, estimates, and delivery plans for pursuits; lead discovery, demos, and PoCs. Experience estimating projects, writing contracts, Statements of Work and work orders. Ability to successfully build relationships with clients at all levels within an organization. Advanced knowledge of enterprise software systems and enterprise cloud. Knowledge and experience of Enterprise Application Integration and architecture patterns. Willing to travel domestically up to 30%. Preferred
