Primary Purpose: Facilitate the efficient operation of the school office and provide clerical services to Administrators and Counselors.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification
High school diploma or GED
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Proficient skills in typing, word processing, and file maintenance Effective organization, communication and interpersonal skills Basic bookkeeping skills Basic knowledge in Word, Excel Ability to understand and follow detailed written and verbal instructions
Preferred Experience:
Three years of successful secretarial or clerical experience preferably in a related field
Major Responsibilities and Duties: Organize and manage the routine work activities in the School Office. Order and maintain supplies. Prepare correspondence, forms, reports, etc. for the asst. principal. Make appointments and maintain office calendar for Principals, Asst. Principals, and Counselors Compile, prepare, and submit various reports for the office. Receive incoming calls, take reliable messages, and route all to appropriate staff. Receive, sort, and distribute mail and other documents to staff members. Assist with Student Information input with TEAMS. Maintain office files. Maintain confidentiality of information. Perform routine bookkeeping tasks, including simple arithmetic operation of the office. Participate in in-service training programs. Keep informed and comply with all state and district policies and regulations concerning primary job functions.

Equipment Used: Multi-line phone system; standard office equipment including personal computer and peripherals Posture: Prolonged sitting; occasional bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting
Motion: Repetitive hand motions; frequent keyboarding and use of mouse; occasional reaching
Lifting: Occasional light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds)
Environment: May work prolonged or irregular hours
Mental Demands: Work with frequent interruptions; maintain emotional control under stress
