Pediatric Pulmonology – Academic Faculty Physician
We’re seeking a Board Certified or Board Eligible Pediatric Pulmonologist to join the Section of Pediatric Pulmonary Medicine at Wake Forest University School of Medicine, working at Atrium Health Levine Children’s Brenner Children’s Hospital on the campus of Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist in Winston‑Salem, North Carolina. Additional fellowship training and board certification or eligibility in Sleep Medicine is desirable but not required. The position offers an academic appointment at the rank of Assistant, Associate or Professor, commensurate with background and credentials.
About the Section The Pediatric Pulmonology Section provides comprehensive, multidisciplinary care for a diverse pediatric population with high acuity pulmonary conditions. The team includes five pediatric pulmonologists (one dedicated to cystic fibrosis), a pediatric sleep physician, and two experienced inpatient/outpatient APPs.
Conditions managed include:
Bronchopulmonary dysplasia (BPD)
Chronic invasive and non‑invasive ventilation needs
Neuromuscular respiratory weakness
Asthma
Cystic fibrosis
Aerodigestive disorders
Pulmonary hypoplasia and chest wall deformities
Pediatric sleep disorders
Interstitial lung disease
Sickle cell‑related lung disease
Comprehensive Services
Accredited CF Center; member of the Therapeutics Development Network (TDN) with a full multidisciplinary CF care team
Multidisciplinary clinics for CF, ventilator‑dependence, neuromuscular disorders, aerodigestive disorders, sickle cell disease, and pediatric sleep medicine
Inpatient and outpatient bronchoscopy services; full pulmonary lung‑function testing capabilities
Strong collaborations with adult pulmonology, pediatric ENT, NICU, PICU, pediatric surgery, and other subspecialties
Outreach through satellite clinics in Clemmons and Hickory, North Carolina
