The posted UC salary scales set the minimum pay determined by rank and step at appointment. The salary range for this position is $208,000-$501,500. This position includes membership in the health sciences compensation plan, which provides for eligibility for additional compensation.

Position description The Department of Medicine at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA invites applications for a nationally recognized academic physician to serve as the Chief of the UCLA Division of Nephrology.

As Chief, you will lead the division, collaborate with clinical, academic, and administrative leaders, and advance the mission of excellence in clinical care, education, research, and community engagement.

You will manage a division of 36 faculty members, oversee kidney transplant and research programs, and mentor future leaders through fellowship programs.

Reporting to the Chair of the Department of Medicine and Executive Medical Director, you will work with UCLA Health and the DGSOM to achieve strategic goals.

Your responsibilities include strategic planning, fostering a collegial and inclusive culture, ensuring patient quality and safety, and promoting operational distinction.

The ideal candidate is a visionary academic physician with a distinguished record in research, education, clinical care and service, strong leadership, collaboration, and commitment to mentorship.

Applicants must hold an M.D. or equivalent, be boardeligible in nephrology, and be eligible for licensure in California.

Qualifications

Basic qualifications:

M.D. degree or equivalent.

Additional qualifications:

Eligible for licensure in California; Eligible for board certification in nephrology or equivalent credentials; possess academic credentials for an appropriate appointment in UCLA faculty series.
