The practice of radiography is performed by radiologic technologists responsible for the administration of ionizing radiation to humans of all ages (newborn to geriatric) for diagnostic, therapeutic, or research purposes. A radiographer performs radiographic procedures and related techniques, producing images at the request of and for interpretation by a licensed independent practitioner.Core Competencies* Perform all the duties of a Diagnostic Technologist II.* Capable of being a contributing member of quality improvement initiatives as assigned.* Expected to lead daily department huddles as assigned.* Demonstrates the ability to assist with examination protocol and policy review/revisions.* Expected to perform basic lead technologists' functions such as coordinating work assignments, workflow, and staffing for an assigned shift/area; serve as a clinical or technical resource; provide training.* Capable of performing the Dosimeter Badge coordinator duties. (Where applicable)* Capable of Initiating service calls and following up until issues are resolved.* Demonstrates the ability to participate in EOC rounding and TJC tracers alongside department leadership.* Capable of acting as a safety coach duty as they may be asked to serve on the committee.* Demonstrates the ability to develop and mentor other learners.* Expected to show initiative and contribute to successful modality operations.* Capable of recognizing excellence in coworker performance and does not participate in disruptive behavior.* Demonstrates the ability to initiate process improvement discussions with senior leaders.* Expected to anticipate the needs of patients and coworkers and works to proactively remove barriers to exceptional customer service and/or teamwork.Advanced Competencies* Expected to perform complex procedures as applicable to your primary area. This includes but is not limited to Lumbar Punctures, Myelograms, advanced MSK procedures, procedures involving a sterile technique, and complex imaging that requires extensive critical thinking.* Capable of inventorying, ordering, and tracking unit supplies. This includes the ability to utilize any 3rd inventory management tools designed for your area.Knowledge and Competency* Highly experienced.
