OPPORTUNITY | Associate Attorney Our Houston, TX office seeks well-rounded, highly motivated, experienced Associate Attorneys with 3-5 years of litigation experience. Candidates must be licensed to practice in Texas. This is an exceptional opportunity to handle a variety of litigation matters, including personal injury, trucking/auto, and premises liability for nationwide clients with a forward-thinking firm. SKILLS and ABILITIES The candidate should be able to: Work proactively both independently and as part of a team; Demonstrate strong legal research and analytical skills; Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills; Show strong attention to detail, organization, and prioritization skills; Adapt quickly from case to case; Understand court procedures; and, Be proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and internet navigation. RESPONSIBILITIES Responsibilities include managing various cases under the supervision of a partner, such as: Drafting pleadings, motions, orders, and legal memoranda; Responding to written discovery and dispositive motions; Conducting legal research; Preparing and taking depositions; Reviewing client documents, drafting case evaluations, and writing status reports; Participating in mediations and court appearances; and, Interacting directly with clients, claims professionals, opposing counsel, colleagues, and staff.
