Valvetrain & Timing Drive Design Release Engineer is responsible for engineering activities related to development of Valvetrain and Timing Drive components for gasoline engines. Basic Qualifications
A minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited school or equivalent. A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience working with design and manufacturing of powertrain components. Valvetrain or timing drive experience preferred. Understanding of valvetrain/timing drive components and related manufacturing processes, such as steel stamping, machining, grinding, heat treatment, etc. Understanding of product development documentation such as DFMEA and DVP&R. Knowledge of Mechanics of Materials, Engine cam timing, CAE Analysis, and GD&T. Experience in selecting materials and manufacturing methods for mechanical components. Ability to author system/component level requirements. Strong interpersonal, team, and leadership skills. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Strong project management skills and experience. Understanding of structural analysis and failure modes of complex mechanical systems. Ability to resolve technical issues related to camshafts, camshaft phasers, rocker arms, valves, valve seat & valve guide inserts, valve springs, timing chains, timing guides, and tensioners through engineering analysis. Experience in planning and coordinating test execution using tools such as DFMEA and DVP&R, and monitoring progress and results. Company Description
