As a Customer Engineer, you will interface with our customers, internal product development, product marketing, and sales teams, acting as an extension of the power engineering team.
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field.
Experience with Interconnect systems or Controllers.
Minimum of 2-5 years proven experience providing technical support to secure design wins within the connector industry.
Proficient in 3D modeling and Product Data Management (e.g., Creo and Windchill).
Knowledge of ESS/EV Charging and Battery Management systems or modules.
Some experience with industry standards (UL, EIA, IEC, Telcordia, etc.) is advantageous.
Skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of communicating within a global organization to technical and non-technical audiences at various levels.
Strong organizational and presentation skills.
High level of customer service and ability to build relationships with customers.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
Responsibilities
Work with customers to develop solutions that address their needs and meet technical requirements related to power solutions.
Accurately assess customer needs, match them with current products, propose modifications, or suggest new product concepts for engineering development.
Possess product knowledge to provide optimal solutions.
Create models and/or technical presentations to propose concepts and solutions.
Proficient in internal systems such as Windchill and product configurators.
Provide key engineering documents: drawings, product specifications, lab test results, plating analyses, etc.
Understand business unit capabilities (Engineering, Thermal, Manufacturing, Test labs).
Engage thermal engineering and simulation teams as needed; facilitate lab testing to support design proposals.
Demonstrate expertise on the company and its products, and identify emerging marketplace trends.
Develop strategies to differentiate our products and solutions from competitors.
Build trusted relationships with engineering teams of key customers.
Lead and participate in Voice of Customer activities for new products.
Aim to meet and exceed strategic objectives.
Travel up to 30% of the time.
