Responsibilities

ST has over 21,000 issued and pending patent assets worldwide. In this role, you will be a key contributor to ST's legal team for IP and licensing matters. Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Reviewing third-party patent assertions, investigating products and technologies, and preparing defenses. Driving programs related to the out-licensing of ST patents. Attending patent licensing meetings and presenting positions. Managing correspondence with third parties regarding in- and out-licensing patent programs. Drafting, negotiating, and supporting IP-related agreements and transactions (e.g., patent sales, trademark licenses). Supporting ST's legal team on complex IP matters. Providing IP support for mergers and acquisitions. Advising on patents, copyrights, trademarks, trade secrets, and other IP rights. Managing outside counsel and technical consultants. Your Skills & Experiences

J.D. from an accredited US law school. Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in electrical engineering, physics, or a relevant technical field. Registered U.S. Patent Attorney. 7-10 years of experience as a patent attorney, preferably in high-tech. Strong negotiation and presentation skills. Excellent writing, critical thinking, and summarization abilities. Ability to build relationships and become a trusted legal advisor. Willingness to travel 10-15%, including internationally. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Curiosity, adaptability, and ability to work independently and in teams. Experience or interest in working with diverse cultural backgrounds.
