Job Overview
OptoFidelity is seeking two motivated and hands‑on Optical Engineers to support our major client’s cutting‑edge AR development efforts in Redmond, WA. These are 1‑year contract roles with potential extensions, contributing to a specialized project in AR testing and imaging. The anticipated start date is January 5th, 2026.
Each role will collaborate closely with world‑class engineers on groundbreaking technologies in a fast‑paced, cross‑functional environment. These positions are ideal for early‑career professionals—particularly recent Ph.D. graduates or those with 2–4 years of relevant experience and a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a related field.
Key Responsibilities
Perform optical and electrical testing and characterization of display and optical components.
Set up and operate complex optical systems while ensuring measurement repeatability and accuracy.
Conduct data analytics, document results, and communicate findings clearly to technical teams.
Support failure analysis, system validation, and prototype testing.
Perform and document precise optical measurements and experiments.
Collaborate cross‑functionally with optics, metrology, and software engineering teams.
Analyze data, summarize results, and support continuous process improvement.
Must‑Have Qualifications
BS, MS, or Ph.D. in Optical Engineering, Optics, Physics, Materials Science, or a closely related field.
At least 1+ year of hands‑on optics or optical characterization experience (2+ years preferred for BS holders).
Comfortable working in a lab environment with hardware, optical benches, and test setups.
Strong data analysis and documentation skills.
Experience with Python.
Understanding of color science and imaging principles.
Nice‑to‑Have Qualifications
Experience in electrical testing or electronics.
Familiarity with optical metrology instruments (e.g., interferometers, colorimeters, imaging systems).
Background in optical design, simulation, or image quality evaluation.
Exposure to AR/VR system testing, hardware bring‑up, or prototype validation.
Knowledge of image processing or classical computer vision techniques.
