Job Summary Baptist Health is seeking an Assistant Nurse Manager for our Operating Room unit at the Baptist South location. This is a full‑time position with a commitment of 36 hours per week.
Responsibilities
Provide nursing care to patients on the unit.
Assess and reassess unit function; serve as a liaison for staff, physicians, and other departments.
Act as a resource and mentor for staff, providing growth feedback.
Monitor and adjust man‑hours in accordance with the unit budget.
Assist the manager with disciplinary issues and annual performance reviews.
Facilitate any special needs of the surgeon, meet with vendors, and keep preference sheets current.
Perform any role in the service (scrub, assist, or circulate).
Hospital Overview Baptist South serves the rapidly growing neighborhoods in southern Duval and northern St. Johns counties. The hospital blends resort‑like amenities with advanced medical care, addressing the physical, spiritual, and emotional needs of patients and their families.
Education Required:
Associate's Degree – Nursing
Preferred:
Bachelor's Degree – Nursing
Experience
Medical Surgical Experience – Required
Post‑Surgical Nursing Experience – Required
General Nursing Experience – Required
License and Certification
Basic Life Support (BLS) – Required
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) – Required
Licensed Registered Nurse – Required
