Position Description The Haliciolu Data Science Institute (HDSI) at UC San Diego seeks temporary lecturers to teach Data Science Undergraduate and Graduate Programs during the 2025-26 academic year as needs arise. Candidates should have expertise in data science areas such as data analysis, programming, statistics, machine learning, database systems, scalable systems, and visualization. UC San Diego is pursuing new initiatives related to data science and is committed to excellence in education and research.
The Undergraduate and Graduate Programs are dedicated to building a diverse and inclusive faculty, staff, and student body. In addition to high standards of scholarship, teaching, and professional activity, the position will support learning environments where everyone can fully participate and thrive.

Qualifications
Basic qualifications
(required at time of application): Hold a Master’s degree in a field related to data science, such as computer science or statistics, or have a minimum of 5 years industry experience that may substitute for the degree.
