Position Director of Renewable Energy Project Finance
Location Sioux Falls, South Dakota
Compensation dependent upon experience
Responsibilities
Lead end‑to‑end transaction processes: manage tax credit transfer financings and sales, coordinate underwriting, negotiate term sheets and definitive documents, and drive deals through approval and closing
Oversee and review complex project finance models used for valuation, return analysis, sensitivities, and lender/investor cases, ensuring accuracy and bankability of key assumptions
Perform detailed due diligence and support deal execution, working cross‑functionally with internal teams and external advisors to evaluate data rooms, transaction terms and project documentation, identifying key risks and drivers.
Lead, manage, and mentor the renewable energy finance team, setting standards for project management, modeling, analysis, and transaction execution
Cultivate relationships with investors, project developers, advisors, lawyers, and other stakeholders to support transactions and advance company objectives
Contribute to overall company strategy and resource allocation, including providing support to the Railroad and Advisory teams
Create and present reports and materials for senior leadership
Assist with the development of marketing documents and approach
Continuously improve company processes, models, and tools to drive accuracy, efficiency, and insight across the firm
Required skills
5+ years of experience in accounting, corporate finance, project finance, investment banking, commercial banking, private equity, or developer roles
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, economics, engineering, or related field; CPA, JD, or CFA preferred
Advanced financial modeling expertise, including forecasting, valuation, and scenario analysis, with the ability to build dynamic and scalable models in Excel
Experience at a public accounting or law firm or in investment banking preferred
Demonstrated project management skills and experience
Lateral thinker, ability to move quickly and decisively
Exceptional attention to detail and analytical rigor, ensuring accuracy and quality
Location
Sioux Falls with occasional travel, primarily for industry conferences, partner meetings, and site visits that support business development and relationship management.
