Pay Highlights:
$45-55/hour (Based on years of experience)
Key Responsibilities
Perform moderate to highly complex clinical laboratory tests in accordance with established policies and procedures.
Conduct newly introduced laboratory tests requiring advanced technical skills.
Prepare and oversee reagents, stock solutions, standards, and controls; evaluate new reagents and controls as needed.
Determine the acceptability of specimens based on established criteria.
Calculate, interpret, and verify test results using manual and automated methods.
Accurately document and enter test results; ensure compliance with turnaround time standards.
Assess validity and reliability of analytical data before releasing results.
Recognize and respond appropriately to critical or unexpected results, documenting corrective actions.
Perform instrument calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting to ensure operational efficiency.
Conduct quality control checks, linearity studies, accuracy, and precision testing.
Select and evaluate control materials; initiate corrective action when systems deviate from acceptable limits.
Perform and document proficiency testing in accordance with regulatory requirements.
Train and supervise unlicensed laboratory personnel as needed.
Maintain a clean, safe, and compliant laboratory work environment.
Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and quality improvement initiatives.
Assist in the evaluation and implementation of new methods and instrumentation.
Follow all safety, infection control, and environmental protocols.
Handle waste disposal properly and comply with all relevant laboratory regulations.
Uphold confidentiality and demonstrate integrity in all professional activities.
Perform additional tasks or projects as assigned by management.
Qualifications Education:
BS in Medical Technology or life/physical sciences from an accredited college or university.
Experience:
0–3 years direct laboratory experience
Licensure:
Current California CLS (Clinical Laboratory Scientist) license required.
