Senior VDC Engineer - Self-Perform Work
DPR Construction is seeking a Senior Virtual Design & Construction, Project Engineer for our Self-Perform Team. The successful candidate will facilitate the creation of detailed concrete models for projects across the Southeast and support Precon, Construction, and Field Operations. In addition, the role will drive regional and national VDC initiatives, train project members, and implement construction technology across DPR Business Units.
Job Description The candidate will work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment, producing quality deliverables and meeting project-based deadlines. Key responsibilities include:
Create and maintain detailed concrete models using Tekla Structures and Trimble Connect.
Collaborate with project teams to integrate BIM data into project sites.
Lead training sessions and support the adoption of VDC tools.
Support field layout workflows, rebar and formwork modeling, and coordinate RFI and submittal processes.
Execute VDC operations and processes on a single project while multitasking across multiple projects.
Basic Qualifications
Intermediate to proficient knowledge of Tekla Structures and Trimble Connect.
Basic to intermediate knowledge of Autodesk packages (Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks, etc.) or other relevant platforms.
Basic to intermediate knowledge of field layout workflows.
Understanding of rebar or formwork modeling.
Ability to quickly learn new software tools and train others.
Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
Experience configuring project sites to host BIM data.
Ability to work in a flat-organization environment requiring transparency and collaboration.
Required Experience
Engineering or construction related field.
Concrete industry and processes experience.
Experience with RFI and submittal processes.
Tekla Structures experience is a must.
Education & Technical Qualifications
Associate’s degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience in the AECO industry.
2‑4 years in design, engineering, or construction.
2‑4 years’ experience in a Precon, Operations, or VDC-related role.
