Vice President of Lending.

Reporting to the CEO, The primary responsibilities for the Vice President of Lending are to assist the credit union President/CEO in the management of the credit union’s lending functions in a manner that is consistent with the credit union’s mission, vision and core values.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES:

Accountable for planning, organizing, and directing all of the lending functions of the credit union from policies to application to underwriting to collections for all lending products.

Participate in the credit union’s long- and short-term strategic planning.

Oversee the development and monitoring of performance standards. Provide mentoring, coaching, and/or training to assists and develop managers and staff.

Set the Loan Department’s strategic plans to align with the credit union’s overall plan. Establish and ensure the implementation of target goals for lending.

Communicate credit union goals and direction with all employees to ensure clear understanding of rules, regulations, requirements, and expectations.

Develop, implement, and monitor policies and procedures in accordance with credit union goals and strategies. Work with other departments to maintain consistency in credit union policies and procedures.

Maintain a highly motivated, well‑trained staff. Establish and maintain effective employee relations.

Direct the work of lending staff in all lending areas to include underwriting, loan processing, loan documentation, and approval or denial of loans for consumer and mortgage loans

Research and evaluate the feasibility of new lending products. Develop and implement plans for expansion of lending programs. Keep abreast of changes in the industry and changing trends in lending and react to changes in a way that maintains competitiveness.

Work with lending staff and members on complex issues to prevent loss to the credit union and assist the membership.

Represent and promote the credit union at external functions in the community.

Attend board meetings and report on assigned areas of responsibility as requested by the President.

Ensure the credit union is in compliance with the state and federal laws and regulations set forth by regulatory agencies.

The selected candidate will have a history of demonstrated success in the lending arena, be active in the community and have a strong knowledge of the Credit Union Mission and Vision Statements and Core Values. Additionally, they will have a forward‑thinking mindset, solid leadership qualities, ability to multitask, strong attention to detail, willingness to try new things, excellent project management, analytical and communication skills, ability to create relationships and exceptional integrity and trust. Five to Ten years similar or related experience and/or a college degree or equivalent required.
