The PENTA Building Group is searching for a
General Superintendent
to join our team in
Los Angeles County and Orange County .
Responsibilities
Promote the company’s safety culture by understanding OSHA requirements & the company's safety policies and procedures. Review and approve all safety related documentation. Monitor site safety conditions.
Oversee and manage multiple projects and teams, reviewing safety procedures when possible and monitor project sites for general site safety conditions.
Review and monitor project teams’ performance with subcontractor scopes.
Oversee and manage the RFI/Submittal process when possible to ensure accuracy.
Build relationships with local agencies and coordinate preconstruction meetings with authorities having jurisdiction. Resolve conflicts and make code interpretations.
Mentor superintendents on running efficient and effective meetings and communication.
Ensure that all PENTA policies and procedures are met on the projects.
Approve the PENTA QA/QC policies on projects. Coordinate with the QA/QC team to review project QA/QC plan. Provide oversight to all superintendents to ensure quality installations by all subcontractors in all areas.
Set expectations for daily report requirements and follow up to ensure the quality and content meets these expectations.
Provide assistance on installation of equipment for logistics plans. Provide oversight and approval for all hoist plans on projects.
Provide oversight of the procurement process, improving superintendents’ knowledge of procurement/submittal (constructability) issues.
Review and approve cost reports, logs and schedules.
Work with the VDC team to help them with strong project starting efforts. Attend project BIM/VDC coordination meetings to ensure effective and efficient meetings.
Review all project logistics and lend support to the teams. Ensure all public safety is considered and that any required permits are obtained.
Mentor superintendents for schedule completeness and accuracy. Review all project schedules regularly.
Monitor Pull Plans and Weekly Work Plans for accuracy.
Overall jobsite responsibility to monitor that crew/equipment workflow meets schedule requirements and budgets. Align actual production rates with target production rates and recommend corrective actions with the project team.
Review scope gap and budget concerns with teams on projects. Identify potential issues with the project team. Monitor subcontractors on projects for signs of company cash constraints.
Review scope changes and project schedule impacts with owner and owner's reps. Defend or dispute extra work tickets and contract scope of work at the PM or General Superintendent level.
Regularly review tickets and PCO logs for quality control.

We trust that you have:
Qualifications
15+ years of experience in a senior‑level management Construction Superintendent role
Experience working on large commercial construction projects is preferred, and OSHPD/HCAI is a plus
Prior experience leading and managing a team of direct reports
OSHA 10 or 30 Certification is required
Degree in Construction Management or a related field is preferred
Proficiency in utilizing programs such as P6, Bluebeam, and Autodesk Build
Strong verbal and written communication
Fluency in reading, quantifying, and analyzing construction drawings
Expert understanding of construction scheduling and sequencing
The ability to work efficiently on fast‑paced construction projects with accelerated schedules
Flexibility to commute to project locations within the Los Angeles and Orange Counties
Salary Range DOE $170,000 - $210,000
