DPR Construction is seeking a Business Intelligence Analyst to support our Self Perform Work (SPW) entity within DPR. The SPW division directly hires and manages craft workforces for scopes such as Concrete, Drywall, Electrical, Interiors, Waterproofing, and more. This role will be the primary data analyst for the SPW division, engaging with stakeholders across the group – front‑line field supervisors, craft foremen, project managers, project executives, and corporate leadership. The analyst will collaborate with cross‑functional teams, build relationships, identify pain points, create data strategies, and deliver actionable insights, driving data‑driven decisions from integrated business processes, systems, and analytics.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with SPW business partners and other areas to align data analytics efforts with business objectives.

Create, maintain, and execute the data analytics roadmap for SPW.

Lead stakeholder conversations to understand and document pain points, focusing on outcomes and desired actions.

Develop and maintain relationships with business stakeholders and gain deep understanding of their processes, tools, and goals.

Apply construction management knowledge to guide development of data‑driven insights with SPW leaders and front‑line managers.

Drive development and implementation of solutions to current pain points, prioritizing long‑term, best‑in‑class solutions.

Work with stakeholders to understand and align on business requirements for visualization and storytelling.

Create and maintain dashboards and apps as required.

Deliver actionable insights to improve processes and drive strategic conversations.

Track and monitor usage metrics to measure adoption and impact of analytics.

Perform ad‑hoc analysis as required.

Identify root causes of data integrity issues; troubleshoot and resolve them in visualization tools.

Create complex data models in visualization tools and perform needed transformations.

Query the data warehouse with SQL to analyze datasets.

Clean data and identify new datasets or integrations for the data warehouse.

Build requirements for views in DBT with technical analysts.

Maintain documentation of queries, transformations, and refreshes.

Enforce data security and governance guidelines.

Implement security for dataflows, review access requests, and maintain row‑level security where needed.

Conduct impact analysis on reports when upstream changes occur and communicate impacts.

Identify opportunities for data collaboration, integration, and AI/ML initiatives.

Prioritize requests and initiatives based on business impact and resources.

Train end‑users on dashboards, report building, and data literacy.

Act as subject‑matter expert on data availability, quality, processes, and technology.

Advocate source‑of‑truth systems and maintain understanding of the data pipeline architecture.

Qualifications

Master’s degree in Business Analytics, Data Analytics, Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or related field plus 3 years of experience, or Bachelor’s degree plus 5 years of experience applying data to solve problems.

Experience with the construction industry, including industry trends, terminology, and typical processes.

Experience with self‑perform teams or managing a craft workforce.

Experience with construction project controls (Earned Value, productivity, schedule, cost management).

Passion for using data and business intelligence to optimize outcomes.

Track record of translating business pain points into data requirements and solving complex problems.

Analytic skills: data mining, evaluation, analysis, and visualization.

Ability to create data models and understand source‑system dependencies.

Proficiency with Power BI (required) and dataflows.

Experience consuming client‑side APIs (REST, GraphQL).

SQL scripting proficiency.

Business acumen and understanding of operations to identify improved decision‑making opportunities.

Excellent organizational, leadership, interpersonal, communication (written, verbal, visual), and analytical skills.

Success in building trusted relationships with internal/external clients.

Drive to get the job done, adapt to changing environments, and assume varied responsibilities.
