We are seeking a seasoned
Senior Accounting Manager (Project Accounting - EPC/Construction/Industrial Services)
to oversee project accounting and financial operations across complex, contract-driven environments. This role is ideal for an experienced professional who thrives at the intersection of finance, operations, and leadership.
$130,000.00/yr – $150,000.00/yr
Key Responsibilities
Financial Close & Reporting : Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes; ensure accurate ASC 606 revenue recognition; deliver consolidated P&L and balance sheet reporting with actionable insights.
Budgeting & Forecasting : Own project financial setup (contracts, WBS, budgets); drive EAC/ETC processes; maintain rolling 12–24 month forecasts; collaborate with leadership on annual budgets for sales, EBITDA, cash flow, and capital.
Revenue & Billing : Govern invoicing cycles (progress, milestone, T&M); enforce change order controls; ensure compliance with contract modifications and performance obligations.
Cost Control & Compliance : Implement cost discipline across labor, subcontractors, equipment, and materials; ensure compliance with prevailing wage, certified payroll, and state/local labor requirements.
Cash & Working Capital Management : Drive proactive collections, resolve billing disputes, and optimize working capital through inventory management, subcontractor terms, and billing cadence.
Systems & Controls : Own ERP project accounting configuration; strengthen internal controls (segregation of duties, workflow approvals, SOX-lite compliance); build scalable reporting solutions for margin, risk, and change orders.
Leadership & Engagement : Mentor future finance leaders; partner strategically with Sales, Project, Supply Chain, and Legal; train project teams on financial literacy and earned value basics; lead project review sessions to turn financial data into decisions.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (Master’s or CPA preferred).
12–15+ years of progressive accounting experience across public and private companies.
5+ years in managerial roles with proven leadership impact.
7–10+ years of project accounting expertise within EPC, construction, or industrial services.
Strong command of ASC 606, ERP systems, and project-based financial management.
