Registered Nurse - Emergency Services - PT Nights
Join Huntington Health as a Registered Nurse in our Emergency Services department. Your primary responsibilities will include coordinating care to meet identified patient and family needs, supervising patient care using critical thinking and the nursing process, discharge planning, resource identification, linking and scheduling patients with required services, monitoring care delivery, advocating for patients, and evaluating outcomes. You will also coordinate patient care across the continuum and assist team members in meeting individual patient needs.
Expectations This position may require flexibility of hours. You must demonstrate the ability to manage care effectively and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams.
Education Bachelor’s degree (BSN) is required. Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) will be considered if enrolled in a BSN program with completion within two years of hire. Diploma or transcripts of the highest degree earned are required.
Experience / Training Minimum one year of current experience in an acute care area or equivalent service area (two years preferred). Trauma nursing experience preferred. Must successfully pass the Basic Dysrhythmia course curriculum within 21 days of hire. New to the ED must pass the ED Core Curriculum and complete the required on‑unit preceptorship.
Licenses / Certifications
Current unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license issued by the California Board of Registered Nursing (BRN)
Current Basic Life Support Provider (BLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support Provider (PALS), and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support Provider (ACLS) issued by the American Heart Association
Current National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) within 30 days of hire/transfer
Preferred: Current Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) or related certification
Skills ENPC required for full‑time and part‑time employees (or within six months of employment). Ability to care for trauma patients. For MICN: demonstrate understanding of Los Angeles County (LACO) guidelines of prehospital care; participate in quality improvement processes; attend monthly base station meetings; maintain mobile intensive care nurse certification and continuing education requirements; communicate effectively with prehospital and EMS personnel and the Prehospital Care Coordinator.
Job Details Job Title: Registered Nurse Shifts: 12‑hour nights (part‑time) Location: 100 W California Blvd, Pasadena, CA 91105 Compensation: Base rate $49.31–$76.42 per hour, plus overtime and double‑time premiums (estimated blended hourly rate $57.53–$89.16 on a 12‑hour shift). Additional compensation may include differentials, extra shift incentives, and bonuses. Comprehensive benefits available for qualifying positions.
