Echocardiograph Technologist • 1 FTE – Day Shift
Position at Swedish.
Responsibilities The Cardiac Ultrasound Technologist, under the direction of the Department Director and Manager, will perform a variety of echocardiography procedures independently to diagnose heart disorders. This includes:
Perform transthoracic echocardiograms (TTE) on adult, pediatric, and neonatal patients and prepare preliminary echo reports for review.
Conduct stress echocardiograms—both pharmacologic and exercise—assisted by qualified respiratory care practitioners or other licensed independent practitioners.
Acquire transesophageal echocardiogram (TEE) images under the supervision of a cardiac cardiologist, qualified anesthesiologist, or cardiac surgeon.
Ensure completeness and accuracy of all examinations and communicate results effectively to cardiologists, anesthesiologists, and surgeons.
Individualize patient care using age‑related concepts, applying knowledge of growth and development, safety needs, data collection, and treatment protocols, and teaching patients and families.
Qualifications
Graduate of a formal approved Cardiac Sonographer program.
National Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (ARDMS) OR National Certification from Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) OR National Provider BLS (American Heart Association) upon hire.
Preferred: Minimum 3 years of experience in the field.
