Electrical Project Engineer – Denver, CO

We are looking for an experienced Electrical Project Engineer to work on a variety of electrical design projects, including water treatment and distribution, wastewater treatment and collection, municipal systems, industrial processing, power generation and distribution, lighting, instrumentation/controls, and SCADA. The successful candidate will take overall responsibility for the electrical design process on these projects.
Responsibilities
Provide professional electrical engineering services for projects including planning, studies, design, bidding and construction administration.
Manage performance of assigned project team members.
Maintain existing client relationships and enhance pursued relationships with clients.
Identify, evaluate, pursue, and manage project opportunities.
Provide quality control and quality assurance on all project work.
Maintain budgets and schedules of project assignments.
Coordinate, facilitate, and attend internal and external meetings.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering.
4+ years of electrical system design experience in the water/wastewater or similar industrial facility areas.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Ability to travel as required for project/client responsibilities and business development.
Ability to work remotely and manage projects, clients, and project team members.
Knowledge of electrical systems including electrical distribution, lighting, and special systems.
Knowledge of instrumentation and control systems including instruments, fiber optics, computers, radios, Ethernet networks and SCADA.
Preferred Qualifications
Registration as a Professional Engineer or ability to obtain within 6 months.
7+ years of experience in water and/or wastewater treatment.
Project management experience.
Knowledge of project financials.
Physical Requirements
Ability to walk up to 3 miles on uneven terrain.
Ability to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time.
Occasionally climb, stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist.
Occasionally lift, carry, push, and pull light to moderate amounts of weight; may require lifting up to 20 pounds, rare up to 50 pounds.
Ability to inspect equipment, structures, or materials to identify errors or defects.
May require wearing PPE such as flame‑resistant clothing, hard hat, and protective footwear.
May involve occasional evenings and weekends with overtime varying by workload.
May require travel to off‑site locations, including occasional overnight stays out of town.
