Our Hardware Platforms and Accessories Team is seeking an

Accessories Design Engineer.

You would be responsible for leading the development, integration and lifecycle management of accessories supporting TrellisWare's Tactical Radios. Enhancing cohesiveness and maintaining team morale is a responsibility of all our team members, as is the ambition for self‑improvement and talent development. Essential duties and responsibilities

Oversee diverse portfolio of accessories - including audio (wired and wireless), data communication adapters (Ethernet, USB, Wi‑Fi) and power adapters.

Ensure products meet design requirements, maintain compatibility, and provide customer satisfaction

Provides technical leadership for design, qualification, and integration of radio accessories

Manage the full product lifecycle, from defining requirements, through test and development, and transition to mass production.

Collaborates with hardware, software and systems engineering teams to insure accessory interoperability with radio products

Serves as technical point of contact for internal departments and third‑party partners

Defines and reviews test plans, certification requirements, and compliance with regulatory standards

Analyzes engineering simulation/test data, field performance data, and customer feedback to drive continuous improvement

Maintains technical documentation, specifications, and release notes for accessory products

Provides training and technical guidance to internal stakeholders, including product management, sales and support teams.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and work experience requirements

Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field of study required.

At least 3‑5 years overall experience in designing products that were in volume production.

Knowledge, skills, and abilities

Experience with design or verification of data communications interfaces (Ethernet, USB, Wi‑Fi).

Familiarity with power systems (AC/DC adapters, battery charging, safety regulatory compliance)

Understanding of audio technologies (includes wired audio devices and wireless audio protocols such as Bluetooth)

Knowledge of RF fundamentals, radio systems, system integration

Experience with EMI/EMC compliance

Ability to read and review technical documents including electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and PCB layouts.

Ability to lead cross‑functional teams

Helpful to have experience with rugged or mission critical communications products

Helpful to have familiarity with regulatory standards docs (MIL‑STD, ISO, IEC, etc.)

Helpful to have knowledge of regulatory compliance (FCC, CE, safety certificiations)

Demonstrates documentation skills and proficiency with PC office applications.

Demonstrates strong written and verbal communication skills.

Physical demands

Able to frequently sit, stand, walk, use hands to fingers, handle or feel, reach within hands and arm's length, stoop, kneel, and crouch, talk and hear.

Regularly required to sit for extended periods of time; frequently required to use office equipment such as PC, printer, telephone, etc.

Able to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
