Senior Program Financial Analyst, Fulbright

POSITION DESCRIPTION:
This position supports the Director in the financial administration of the Fulbright Foreign Student Program and overall project financial reporting.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Monitor, track, and create payment vouchers for program participants, universities, and alumni grant recipients
Liaise with university billing contacts and service providers for timely invoicing and to resolve billing issues
Review recurring and off‑cycle participant allowance payments for errors and liaise with team members and the Accounting Department regarding delays, holds and other payment issues
Coordinate with Accounting to set up new student IDs and project numbers
Maintain a calendar year workplan and timeline of the student tax process in collaboration with the student tax services provider and Amideast Accounting
Serve as point of contact on student tax‑related matters for the tax services provider, program participants, and other partners
Understand the student general tax preparation process and communicate it to staff and program participants
Collect and process participant SSNs, ITIN applications, W‑8BEN, and power of attorney forms as necessary
Process participant tax refunds and eligible state tax reimbursements
Coordinate with team members throughout the month to ensure the completeness of purchase card logs and supporting receipts; and reconcile purchase card at the end of the month
Generate recurring (monthly, quarterly, and annual) and ad‑hoc financial reports for the Director’s review
As requested by the Director, participate in meetings with accounting representatives from partner entities and organizations
Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
Required
Master’s degree in a related academic field and 4 years of post‑degree work experience; or a bachelor’s degree with 6 years of post‑degree experience
Experience in billing, reconciliation, financial analysis, and reporting
Demonstrated ability to be proactive, resourceful, and collaborate in a medium‑sized team environment
Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, especially in Excel, Outlook, and Word
Strong attention to detail
Excellent problem‑solving skills
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Advanced skills using Deltek Costpoint or similar accounting software
Preferred
Experience in customer service, banking, or financial services
WORK ENVIRONMENT The incumbent will work in a professional office environment and will utilize the following equipment when working from the corporate office or remote home office (on a hybrid basis):
