Waymo’s Technical Program Managers are accountable for Waymo’s roadmap execution by providing thoughtful cross‑functional planning, clarity, and proactive risk management. In the face of complex technical and operational challenges with no established playbooks, we act with thoughtful urgency, driving conversations, discussions, and outcomes. Our team partners closely with every function of Waymo to structure, own, and drive work toward real‑world deployments of the Waymo Driver across platforms and geographies.

This role follows a hybrid work schedule and reports to a TPM Manager.

You Will

Program Coordination & Execution: Drive the day‑to‑day coordination and execution of complex, cross‑functional compliance workstreams, ensuring timely progress and alignment across different work groups.

Risk & Dependency Management: Maintain a high‑level project status summary for compliance programs, proactively identifying, documenting, and escalating program risks and dependencies to relevant stakeholders and decision‑making bodies.

Gap Closure & Readiness Tracking: Monitor and drive the burndown of corrective actions and identified gaps, providing clear, quantitative signal on workstream readiness for upcoming internal assurance efforts and external regulatory audits.

Meeting Facilitation: Support critical compliance meetings, including executive reviews, by owning agenda preparation, documenting comprehensive meeting notes, and rigorously tracking all action items through to completion.

Communication & Reporting: Assist in developing and distributing cadenced status reports, program metrics, and internal communications to provide clear visibility into program progress for a diverse set of stakeholders.

Audit & Assurance Support: Act as a key coordinator during internal assurance reviews and external regulatory audits, organizing schedules, compiling required documentation packages, and managing the follow‑up and closure of post‑audit items.

You Have

Foundational program management skills: 2‑3 years of experience in a Technical Program Management, Project Management, or similar role driving complex projects in a technical domain (e.g., software, hardware, or complex systems).

Bachelor’s Degree: B.S. in a technical field (e.g., Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline) or equivalent practical experience.

Cross‑Functional Execution: Proven ability to drive day‑to‑day execution, monitor status, and manage tasks and escalations across multiple technical and non‑technical teams simultaneously.

Detail Orientation: Exceptional organizational skills and an intense focus on detail for tracking corrective actions, dependencies, and program readiness.

Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, capable of summarizing complex technical status into clear, concise updates for both technical teams and executive leadership.

We Prefer

Large/complex program coordination experience: Prior experience of executing company‑level procedures in a complex and fast‑moving environment would be a great asset.

Exposure to stewarding large‑scale process evolution: Coordinating updates to processes while maintaining execution cadence and ensuring a consistent view for cross‑functional stakeholders.

The expected base salary range for this full‑time position across U.S. locations is $158,000—$200,000 USD. Salary will be based on job‑related factors, including exact work location, experience, relevant training and education, and skill level.
