Job Summary Sr. Research Associate applies technical knowledge in multicolor flow cytometry to support the development of new methods. This hands‑on laboratory‑based position reports to the Head of Analytical Development and requires strong interpersonal and communication skills with a collaborative, team‑first mindset.
Responsibilities
Support efforts to design and develop flow cytometry assays for testing and characterization of cellular therapies.
Support efforts to optimize existing flow methods, when needed.
Provide support for developing, transferring, validating and troubleshooting flow methods.
Provide analytical technical support to a Quality Control on flow cytometry methods.
May act as subject‑matter expert (SME) on flow cytometry across the company.
Support flow core facility; instrument calibration, vendor management and troubleshooting.
Maintain study records and document results in technical reports.
Write or revise operating procedures and test methods, as appropriate.
Complete appropriate GMP training, when needed.
Document investigations in reports and memoranda, as appropriate.
Other duties as assigned.
Scope
Uses professional concepts, company policies and procedures to solve a variety of problems.
Works on problems of moderately complex scope.
Works with a moderate level of independence on responsibilities of moderate complexity.
Qualifications Job Requirements
Education : BS in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or a related field.
Experience
5+ years minimum experience in multicolor flow cytometry.
Working knowledge of cGMP requirements.
Experience validating and transferring methods and working in a regulated environment under cGMP.
Experience with cell culture.
Ability to solve problems through analysis.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong organizational skills.
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
On‑site based role at our Seattle, WA office (NOT Remote).
This role operates in a standard office setting using standard office equipment.
Role requires frequent use of video conferencing, standard office software, and digital collaboration tools.
Must have the ability to lift 10–20 lbs.
Must have the ability to work in an office environment around laboratories, manufacturing areas and equipment with exposure to blood, blood products or OPIM (other potentially infectious materials) while donning required personal protective materials.
