As a mid‑level Full‑Stack Software Engineer II, you will work at the tip of the spear to qualify integration use cases, develop expertise with third‑party products, and lay out technical and business requirements. You will design and build high‑performance integrations that unlock the full potential of AppFolio Property Management.

Responsibilities

Become a master of software engineering craft, learning from and teaching other smart engineers.

Develop scalable, robust web‑based solutions that solve complex business problems for our customers.

Formulate, implement, and evaluate algorithms and database queries to support SaaS scalability and stability.

Implement new features and optimize existing ones to drive maximum scalability, stability, and performance.

Use test‑driven development, code reviews, and continuous integration to deliver high‑quality software and resolve bugs rapidly.

Work closely with QA, product owners, and APM customers to incorporate feedback and release value continuously.

Leverage agile practices, including pair programming and live code review, to continuously deliver small batches of value.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical discipline.

At least 3 years of experience as a full‑stack software engineer.

Hands‑on experience developing web‑based applications in a SaaS environment.

Creativity and the ability to solve complex problems without a roadmap.

Knowledge of Ruby on Rails and experience with Ruby, Java, or Python.

Experience with React, Redux, AWS, or SOA.

Familiarity with Agile methodologies (Scrum or Kanban) and test‑driven development.

Experience across the full development stack (frontend, backend, infrastructure) is preferred.

Compensation & Benefits The base salary range for this role is $114,400–$143,000, determined by skills, education, and experience. The total rewards package includes additional benefits and bonuses/commissions, and regular full‑time employees are eligible for all standard benefits.
