This is a fast-moving technology organization seeking a Senior Process Engineer to lead process modeling, design, and scale-up for advanced energy and thermal‑chemical systems. The role is ideal for engineers with strong fundamentals in thermodynamics, reaction engineering, and process simulation who enjoy building real systems that operate reliably under demanding conditions.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and maintain steady‑state and dynamic process models using Aspen HYSYS.

Evaluate design tradeoffs, control strategies, and system operability using simulation results.

Lead creation of PFDs, P&IDs, and process architecture from concept through detailed design.

Define operating conditions, equipment sizing, utilities, and safety systems.

Drive scale‑up from lab to pilot and production, identifying key risks and process limits.

Specify reactors, heat exchangers, separators, pumps, compressors, and related process equipment.

Support safety analyses (HAZOP/LOPA) and define control narratives and process monitoring strategies.

Plan and interpret experiments to validate models and refine process performance.

Provide technical leadership and mentor junior engineers.

Experience Required

7+ years of experience in chemical process design, development, or scale‑up.

Strong proficiency in Aspen HYSYS (steady‑state required; dynamic preferred).

Solid foundation in thermodynamics, reaction engineering, mass/energy balances, and heat transfer.

Experience owning PFDs, P&IDs, and equipment specifications.

Track record of scaling processes from prototype or pilot to production.

Strong communication and documentation skills.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering (Master’s/PhD preferred).

Experience with extreme‑environment processes (high‑temp, high‑pressure, cryogenic, etc.) is beneficial.

Familiarity with complementary modeling tools or scripting environments is a plus.

Background in safety‑critical, regulated, or industrial environments preferred.

Experience with process control, commissioning, or continuous improvement methodologies is an advantage.
