Position Summary The Senior Electrical Distribution Engineer (Team Lead/TR) is part of the Infra Electrical Engineering team at Samsung Semiconductor. This role will be responsible for leading the Distribution Engineering team in providing support and knowledge of all Samsung Distribution equipment related to operations, commissioning, Substation, MV/LV Switchgear across the site.
Role And Responsibilities
Lead development, review, and approval of SAS site electrical specifications and maintenance procedures related to power distribution for all area facilities (CUB, GCS, FAB, etc.) and their associated electro‑mechanical loads and backup systems.
Supervise engineering scope and prepare engineering designs, drawings, circuit maps, control diagrams, charts, databases, plans, and other documents for transmission and distribution systems, generation and substation facilities.
Delegate and review the implementation of operation responses, safety procedures, guidelines, and operating manuals for all Samsung Electrical Systems within the facility.
Develop and maintain Samsung’s Power Distribution System philosophy.
Manage complex power system analyses, such as protective coordination and load flow analysis.
Facilitate trending of equipment utilization, capacity, and performance.
Approve Change Point Management (CPM) for equipment.
Skills And Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree required, in a related engineering field; Electrical or Electronics Engineering highly preferred.
7+ years of relevant experience with medium and high voltage electrical distribution.
Previous leadership experience a plus.
Skills, Abilities & Knowledge
General knowledge of generators, motor controllers, and VFDs.
Knowledge of MV switchgear arc‑flash protections and protection relays.
Experience in commissioning, testing, and creating commissioning procedures for HV/MV/LV electrical distribution equipment.
