Job Description AECOM has a career opportunity for an Environmental Permitting Specialist (New England) to join our industry-leading Northeast Environmental Planning & Permitting Practice. This position requires environmental permitting experience in Massachusetts and other New England States, with particular expertise in the Massachusetts Wetlands Protection Act Regulations (310 CMR 10.00), S. 404/401 of the CWA, MEPA, Ch.91, and related land‑use regulations. The selected individual will support a wide range of diverse projects in multiple client sectors including Energy (electric transmission, generation, renewables), State Infrastructure Projects, Federal Sector Projects, and Industrial Projects. A strong understanding of regulatory permit requirements, the ability to attend and lead public presentations, and collaboration within a team are required. The position is based in Massachusetts or nearby New England States and can be remote with some project and client travel, meetings, and site visits.
Qualifications Minimum Requirements:
Valid Driver’s License and pass AECOM’s Motor Vehicle Records review.
BA / BS in Environmental Science, Biology, Sciences, or related field + 8 years of experience or equivalent.
Environmental permitting experience is required.
US citizenship is required.
Preferred Requirements:
MS degree and 12+ years of permitting experience.
Background in Wetland Science, Policy and Land Use Regulations.
Strong written and verbal communication skills and computer skills.
