Job Description Senior Network Engineer (Hybrid on site in Quantico, VA) – W2 ONLY – NO C2C OR PERSONAL LLCs
Immediate need for a Senior Network Engineer for a large government client.
Responsibilities
Tests and analyses all elements of network facilities.
Monitors and controls performance and status of network resources on multiple enclaves.
Identifies and diagnoses problems and factors affecting network performance.
Analyzes network performance, usage, traffic flows, access, and interfaces.
Provides technical planning and analysis for communication activities including designing, integrating, installing, troubleshooting, repairing, testing, monitoring, reporting, documenting, working with appropriate vendors, and performing preventative maintenance services.
Performs testing, provisioning, operations, and emergency response for ongoing network operations.
Oversees and manages deployment of upgrades to existing data, video, and related systems in a multi-location environment.
Ensures all required operational and support documents are current.
Maintains current understanding of emerging technologies and trends in online media, cloud service, storage solutions, and other data center technologies.
Qualifications
Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.
8+ years of experience as a Network Engineer.
Active CCNA.
Active Security+ Certification.
Bachelor’s Degree or 4 additional years of work experience.
US Citizenship required.
Location & Employment
Hybrid onsite 3 days per week in Quantico, VA + 2 days remote.
Contract with 6 months to hire.
Compensation
$65 – $70 per hour, contingent on experience.
Upon conversion: $140,000 – $145,000 annually.
Additional Experience
Experience with data center and IP backbone networks in a multi‑vendor, multiprotocol environment.
Protocols: BGP, OSPF, vDC, vPC, VRF’s, Spanning‑Tree, VLANs, 802.1q, QoS, Cisco ASA with Active/Active Multiple Contexts.
Firewall experience: Cisco ASA 5500X, Juniper SRX, Forcepoint SW.
Expert level configuration of Cisco routers and switches: 4500/6500, 3750, 3850, ASR 1000.
Nexus 2K/5K/7K/9K Data Center Experience.
Configuration and management of firewalls: Cisco Firepower, Palo Alto, Forcepoint Sidewinder, Juniper.
Familiar with NTP /MAB/F5 Deployment.
Network Management Apps: Cisco ACS/ISE, Cisco Prime, SolarWinds.
