Deputy Data & Analytics Director
The Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee (DSCC) is hiring a Deputy Data and Analytics Director for the 2026 cycle. The Deputy Director will help maintain a technical environment, lead complex analysis projects, and provide management and coaching to data science, engineering, and analytics staff. They will also provide critical support to the DSCC’s early vote reporting and analysis work for key battleground states.
This position reports to the National Data and Analytics Director.
Location: Washington, DC
Responsibilities
Help hire, train, and manage the DSCC data staff who will build data assets and products to support priority state operations, including roles in data science, engineering, and analysis
Work with the National Data and Analytics Director to support and maintain a technical environment, including version control, workflow orchestration, configuration, security, and reporting
Work with National Data and Analytics Director to project manage analytics vendors to ensure models and other analytics tools are delivered on time and meet quality standards; use historical and in-cycle data to provide strategic advice to DSCC, Senate campaigns, and coordinated campaigns
Help conduct rigorous testing of scores; develop supporting materials and guidance on scores and data products to be shared with a wide range of technical and non-technical audiences
Support vendors and staff in utilizing models for targeting mail, digital, and direct voter contact programming
With the Director, scope and staff complex analytical projects for both DSCC and in-state stakeholders. Provide project management and direct analytical support to move projects forward as necessary
Support the DSCC’s early vote reporting and analysis work, including: automated systems to ensure data arriving for reporting is accurate, synthesized, and up to date; reporting; and actionable analysis
Collaborate with other members of the DSCC and state teams to ensure models, score guidance, and DSCC analysis recommendations are being translated to voter contact programs
Build, document, and maintain scalable code to support both ongoing and one-off analysis projects
Build out tools to generate and track which voters we are reaching across a wide range of outreach levers
Skills and Qualifications
At least three cycles of political analytics experience is required, including at least one cycle managing either data analyst, data science, or engineering roles
Substantial professional experience developing, evaluating, and using person-level models for analysis, targeting, and reporting on electoral programs
Expert-level experience in SQL
Advanced experience in Python or R
Advanced experience with voter contact tools, including VAN
Experience automating data ingestion pipelines, standardization, and QC processes in Google Cloud Platform
Experience in workflow orchestration
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Strong problem solving skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment
Collaborative approach to working with other teams and partners, and openness to constructive feedback
