POSITION SUMMARY We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Data Engineer to join our client’s Finance Data Engineering team. In this role, you will design and build high-quality data pipelines, data models, and ETL processes in support of critical financial and accounting systems. You will work heavily with Snowflake, DBT, SQL, and AWS databases to ensure the accuracy, integrity, and reliability of financial data at scale. This is a hands‑on engineering role where precision and data governance are essential. You’ll collaborate cross‑functionally with finance, accounting, and data engineering teams to deliver a robust finance DataMart built from scratch.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Build, optimize, and maintain high-quality financial data pipelines and ETL processes.
Design and implement scalable data models to support accounting, financial reporting, revenue operations, forecasting, and GL integrations.
Work extensively with Snowflake, DBT and AWS ecosystem.
Ensure extremely high levels of data accuracy, integrity, and traceability to support SOX compliance and financial statements.
Write complex, efficient SQL queries for data transformation, validation, and modeling.
Collaborate in a cross‑functional environment, partnering with engineering, finance, and data teams.
QUALIFICATIONS
5+ years of experience in data engineering (finance or accounting data preferred).
Expert‑level SQL skills, with ability to write complex, optimized queries.
Strong experience with Snowflake (advanced understanding of internals preferred).
Hands‑on experience with DBT, including model hierarchy, lineage, and testing.
Proven ability to build high‑quality, scalable ETL pipelines from scratch.
Financial data experience
Experience with data modeling concepts for financial datasets.
Experience with Postgres and AWS databases/services.
Strong understanding of data accuracy, validation, and governance requirements for financial systems.
Experience working in cross‑functional engineering and finance environments.
