Project Manager – Heavy Civil Construction McMillen, Inc. is looking for a Project Manager to join our growing construction division. This role will manage heavy civil jobs ranging from $5M–$75M across Southern Central states. The Project Manager reports to the Operations Manager and is responsible for planning, directing, coordinating, and budgeting construction projects, including hard bid, CM, and Design-Build.

Responsibilities

Manage mid to large scale heavy civil projects with moderate to high risk levels.

Overall management of multiple construction projects in varying stages of completion.

Coordinate with Construction Operations Manager to assure project performance aligns with goals.

Implement Corporate Safety Policy on all assigned projects.

Mentor Assistant Project Managers, Project Assistants, and Project Engineers.

Generate work plans, schedule projects, and budget time requirements to meet deadlines.

Determine labor requirements and coordinate manpower dispatch to construction sites.

Inspect and review projects to monitor compliance with building and safety codes and regulations.

Prepare contracts, negotiate revisions, changes, and additions with architects, consultants, clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.

Obtain necessary permits and licenses or coordinate with environmental and regulatory staff to assure proper compliance prior to project mobilization.

Supervise workers and fill in for Project Superintendents as needed.

Prepare and submit budget estimates, progress, cost tracking, and quality control documents.

Address delays, bad weather, or emergencies and coordinate resolutions with owners, contractors, and design professionals.

Provide project closeout documents and track warranty period releases.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field, or minimum of 5 years comparable experience.

5–8 years of experience with heavy civil design-build projects managing all aspects from design, approvals, procurement, construction, and implementation.

Compensation and Benefits

Pay Range: $107,634 – $134,543 (DOE)
