Job Description
The Senior Software Engineer will lead the delivery and maintenance of mission‑critical applications and services supporting city government initiatives.
This role focuses on .NET and Microsoft technologies to design, develop, and maintain high‑performance applications while providing technical leadership and driving continuous improvement across development processes.
Requirement / Must Have
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field or equivalent work experience.
Recent 8 years of Microsoft .NET and Azure development experience.
5 years of application development experience.
2 years of experience as an application development lead.
Experience
Experience designing and developing scalable .NET applications.
Experience in code quality, code reviews, and mentoring developers.
Experience conducting requirements analysis with cross‑functional teams.
Experience leading development teams and ensuring best practices.
Experience troubleshooting and resolving complex technical issues.
Experience optimizing application performance.
Experience developing and maintaining integrations with third‑party systems.
Experience implementing continuous improvement in development practices.
Responsibilities
Lead design and development of scalable and maintainable .NET applications.
Write clean, efficient, and well‑documented code.
Conduct code reviews and support junior developers.
Collaborate with stakeholders to refine technical requirements.
Provide technical guidance and ensure adherence to development best practices.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex bugs and technical issues.
Optimize applications for performance and scalability.
Maintain integrations with external systems and APIs.
Stay updated on industry trends and improve development processes.
Should Have
Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong organizational and time‑management skills.
Local government experience is preferred but not required.
Skills:
Proficiency in C#, VB.NET, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, ASP.NET, and Blazor.
Experience with RESTful API development and microservices architecture.
Strong experience with Microsoft SQL Server (SSMS, SSAS, SSIS, RS).
Knowledge of Microsoft Azure cloud technologies.
Strong experience with Git and CI/CD pipelines.
Understanding of SDLC models and application development processes.
Strong grasp of object‑oriented design patterns.
Experience with BI reporting tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
Proficiency with Microsoft development tools including Visual Studio and Visual Studio Code.
Qualification and Education
