About the Facility : J. Iverson Riddle Developmental Center is a state-operated certified Intermediate Care Facility for Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities (ICF-IID) serving the eastern region of NC. It provides residential, habilitation, medical, education, and other support services to ~230 individuals.
Position Summary : The Facility Director is the senior administrator responsible for the total operations—budget, physical plant, staffing, and delivery of services—ensuring integration of residential, habilitation, medical and educational components.
Other Job Responsibilities Include The Following
Provide leadership, establish goals, set priorities, arbitrate disputes and develop a positive atmosphere of belonging.
Promote independence and self-determination for residents.
Ensure adherence to Olmstead efforts for least restrictive setting.
Lead facility initiatives based on best practice in standard of care.
Collaborate with NCDHHS, DSOHF, families, guardians, community stakeholders and other agencies.
Ensure active treatment and level of care comply with Federal, State, and departmental regulations and policies.
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities/Management Preferences (Preferred)
Thorough knowledge of service needs for individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities and service delivery standards.
Knowledge of institutional/residential facility management and administration theories and practices.
Understanding of disciplines involved in service delivery system.
Broad administrative/managerial experience in local, state or federal programs for people with IDD.
Prior work experience in Special Education, Health Education or Health Administration fields.
Direct experience working with individuals who have intellectual/developmental disabilities.
Shift Hours : 1st shift (8:00 am – 5:00 pm), Monday‑Friday, with flexibility as needed.
Salary Range : $86,250.00 – $194,082.00.
