Job Summary We have a portfolio of kp.org web applications that we provide technology upkeep for, fix defects in, provide production support, and enhance with additional capabilities. These applications are typically built using the programming languages listed above. The job involves being both the code developer and tester using automated testing mechanisms. It is important for the candidate to be able to multitask and flex depending on priorities. This is a full‑stack technical developer position with additional responsibilities of testing and support of high‑availability web applications. The team is accountable for maintaining, supporting, and enhancing kp.org web applications in the Care & Wellness portfolio used by millions of KP members daily. In addition to the responsibilities listed below, this senior individual contributor position is also responsible for the development of internet applications and software tools. This includes working with product teams to understand and contribute to defining the product vision, and developing and supporting end‑to‑end solutions including architecting, designing, developing, and testing member‑facing applications/systems using cloud, content management systems (CMS) and traditional integrations. This position is also responsible for performing hands‑on development of cloud applications, CMS, and integration solutions on a variety of platforms; researching and resolving technical issues and recommending appropriate interventions/modifications as needed; and ensuring work processes and products meet KP IT security and development standards.
Essential Responsibilities
Completes work assignments and supports business‑specific projects by applying expertise in subject area; supporting the development of work plans to meet business priorities and deadlines; ensuring team follows all procedures and policies; coordinating and assigning resources to accomplish priorities and deadlines; collaborating cross‑functionally to make effective business decisions; solving complex problems; escalating high priority issues or risks, as appropriate; and recognizing and capitalizing on improvement opportunities.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, CIS, or related field and four (4) years experience in software development or a related field. Additional equivalent work experience may be substituted for the degree requirement.
Minimum three (3) years experience working on project(s) involving the implementation of solutions development life cycles (e.g., SDLC).
Minimum one (1) year in a technical leadership role with or without direct reports.
Minimum two (2) years experience developing and/or implementing web-based applications.
Minimum two (2) years experience in developing and utilizing cloud based technologies (e.g., Microsoft Azure, AWS, GCP, etc.).
Minimum two (2) years experience working with web application frameworks (e.g., Angular, HTML5, CSS, GraphQL, etc.).
Preferred Qualifications
Two (2) years experience developing micro services and APIs (e.g., Java, Node.js, NoSQL DBs, etc.).
Three (3) years experience in utilizing DevSecOps practices (e.g., Git, Jenkins, Maven, SonarQube, etc.).
Three (3) years experience in automated testing practices (e.g., Selenium, SoapUI/ReadyAPI, DevTest, Bobcat, Mocha, etc.).
Two (2) years of work experience with CMS such as Adobe Experience Manager (AEM).
Two (2) years experience developing HIPAA/PCI compliant applications.
