Senior Mechanical Engineer – Advanced Robotic Systems
A stealth‑stage robotics company in the Boston area is building next‑generation robotic systems with human‑like dexterity, and is looking for a senior mechanical engineer to lead the design of core hardware modules.
Base pay range $160,000.00/yr - $220,000.00/yr

You’ll take ownership of mechanical design for robotic hands and actuation modules, selecting key components (actuators, bearings, sensors, structural materials), and turning concepts into robust hardware through 3D printing, CNC machining, and other fabrication methods. You’ll define and run test plans, interpret results, and iterate rapidly with a tight‑knit R&D team.
Qualifications
7+ years designing and building robotic systems (ideally robotic hands or highly actuated mechanisms)
Deep CAD expertise (Onshape, SolidWorks, or similar)
Proven experience with actuators using frameless motors and custom gear trains
Strong understanding of tolerances, precision assembly, and basic FEA for strength/deformation
A very hands‑on approach to prototyping, fabrication, and assembly
