We are looking for a talented attorney to join the AWS Legal team supporting infrastructure technology (development, supply chain, security and procurement) that all AWS cloud services and customers rely upon. You will work directly with business teams to develop and launch new hardware, manage its global supply chain, and resolve security, compliance, and other risk issues related to AWS infrastructure. You will also help identify, counsel on, and mitigate a wide array of commercial, operational, regulatory, and compliance issues.

This position will be based in Seattle, WA.

Key job responsibilities

Structuring, drafting, and negotiating complex commercial and technology-related agreements, including development, supply, manufacturing services, software licensing, services, and other bespoke agreements.

Supporting and directly advising business partners on legal, commercial, operational, regulatory, and other risks.

Developing, advising on, and implementing vendor engagement, contractual, and negotiation strategies.

Collaborating cross-functionally to identify and resolve commercial, operational, compliance, regulatory, security, safety, legal, and customer/vendor issues.

Basic Qualifications

2+ years of legal experience

Juris Doctor and membership in one state bar or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in transactional work, including drafting and negotiating commercial contracts or equivalent

Knowledge of IT/technology transactions or equivalent

Knowledge of specific legal AI tools (like CoCounsel, Spellbook, or Harvey AI) and their benefits

Experience working cross-functionally and driving decision making among stakeholders with competing goals

Experience with complex commercial/legal concepts and drafting, ability to quickly read and interpret legal terminology and reasoning

Common sense, great judgment, and a good sense of humor

Enthusiasm for technology

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $118,400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $195,700/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
