Job Summary and Responsibilities
Come join our Dignity Health Family at one of the most beautiful hospitals in California, Mercy Medical Center Mt. Shasta. The hospital is nestled at the base of Mt. Shasta and is a 25‑bed critical‑access hospital, Level III trauma center, with three rural health clinics and a new Emergency Department. Mt. Shasta is a small rural community surrounded by lakes, hiking, skiing lifts and many outdoor adventures. This is an amazing opportunity to provide healthcare services to a rural community and enjoy the natural beauty of Northern California.
We are currently recruiting for an FP/OB, who would be working in our clinic and hospital as an employed physician. You will have experienced partners and mentors. Must be qualified to handle c‑sections. The current schedule is 4 days a week, 10‑hour days, plus one‑in‑three hospital coverage.
Employment Offer
Year 1 estimated total compensation: 337,000 USD + 50,000 USD sign‑on paid at first year. (Total compensation includes base salary and call pay.) Relocation and student loan assistance are not included in the above numbers.
Additional production bonus of excess WRVU of 4,400 (average 20,000 USD paid once a year). Yearly quality incentives up to 16,000 USD. Starting in year 3, retention bonus starting at 20,000 USD.

Key Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive maternity care, including prenatal care, labor and delivery, c‑sections and postpartum care, and manage low‑risk pregnancies and assist with surgical deliveries when needed.
Deliver primary care services as a primary care physician (PCP) for patients of all ages, managing chronic illnesses, providing preventative care, and offering acute care.
Coordinate patient care, working with nurses, specialists, administrative staff and other team members to ensure seamless and coordinated care.
Manage high‑risk pregnancies and deliveries, using judgment and collaboration to determine when to transfer high‑risk patients.
Utilize technology and tools, being proficient in electronic health record (EHR) systems, practice management software and, where applicable, telemedicine platforms and specialized obstetric software.
Job Requirements
Board certification or eligibility for the American Board of Family Medicine (ABFM).
Obstetrics training with completed residency or additional training in c‑sections. The hospital averages 30 c‑sections per year, 90 deliveries.
Prepared to provide a broad range of services, including prenatal care, labor and delivery management, postpartum care, newborn care and common primary care conditions.
Experience in a setting with limited resources and a high degree of autonomy is preferred.
