We have an exciting opportunity for a Consultant Psychiatrist to join our Yorkshire Region, working across our West Yorkshire sites consisting of HMP Leeds a category B remand prison, HMP Wakefield a category A high secure prison and HMP Wealstun a category C prison. Working across a range of sites offers you the opportunities for a more varied work schedule and patient group. Within this position be working collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team across all 3 sites including other Psychiatrists.
Hours This role is 40 hours per week, the split will include the following sessions
2 sessions at HMP Leeds
3 sessions at Wakefield
3 sessions at Wealstun
2 sessions CPD day
If you are looking for part time hours we may be able to split the sessions into a job share
Salary You’ll receive an annual salary up to £196,736 per annum - FTE depending on experience. This will be pro rata for a part time role.
How will we support you?
You will be part of a team of 20 plus experienced and supportive Consultant psychiatrists
You will be able to attend monthly Consultant's meeting and 1:1 clinical supervision.
Bespoke induction, including our Introducing Health in Justice training course
Competency framework
Candidates are required to have a Legal right to work in the UK and due to the nature of the role, offers of employment will be subject to additional vetting and security checks.
What you'll be doing
Provide excellent clinical care, assessment and treatment to patients on the case load onsite
Actively participate in the strategic direction of the mental health service, lead the senior mental health clinicians on service developments and provide clinical supervision
Work within the multi-disciplinary team to review referrals, determine appropriate treatment plans, conduct risk assessments, and engage in multi professional complex case reviews.

Qualifications required
Registered professional with current registration (GMC)
Specialist Registration in either General Adult or Forensic Psychiatry
Approved under section 12 (2) of the MHS 1983
Understanding of the complexities of multi-disciplinary and multi-agency working
Up to date knowledge in the adult psychiatry and PD
Awareness of current issues in mental health service provision, policy and legislation
