Our client, a 571-bed regional health system, consisting of two hospitals, three emergency departments, and over 50 healthcare facilities, is seeking a Neurointerventional Surgeon to co-assist in the development and implementation of a Thrombectomy Capable Center for the Neurosciences Center of Excellence. This role is responsible for the strategic, clinical, and operational leadership of neurointerventional services, ensuring the highest standards of care for patients with complex cerebrovascular conditions including ischemic stroke, hemorrhagic stroke, aneurysms, and arteriovenous malformations.

What began as a small hospital with eight rooms more than a century ago has become a state-of-the-art medical center with a designated Level II Trauma Center, Primary Stroke Center, and Level Ill NICU. The multi-specialty medical group comprised of highly trained board-certified neurologists, neurosurgeons, and interventional radiologists is well positioned to further advance the treatment of neurological diseases to meet the needs of the patients they serve.

Qualifications

MD or DO with board certification in neurology, neurosurgery or radiology

Fellowship training in neurointerventional surgery / endovascular neurosurgery

5 years post-fellowship experience in a high volume stroke or neurovascular center

Proficient in performing and interpreting diagnostic imaging studies relevant to interventional procedures

Eligible for medical license in Virginia
