East Nashville Hope Exchange (ENHE) is a nonprofit advancing educational equity by strengthening literacy for children who face barriers to reading success. We believe that literacy is a social justice issue and that every child deserves the opportunity to read confidently, learn boldly, and thrive in school and in life.

ENHE is a small but high-impact organization with a strong reputation for community partnership, family-centered programming, and measurable literacy outcomes. Our core services include a six-week summer literacy program for pre‑K through 5th graders, family engagement workshops, and school-year tutoring.

We are seeking a mission-driven, hands‑on Executive Director to serve as ENHE’s chief advocate, strategist, fundraiser, and culture builder. This Nashville-based leader will be the face of ENHE, building deep relationships with families, donors, schools, and community partners while ensuring strong internal operations and program excellence.

Drive Strategy & Programs -

Translate mission into actionable goals and measurable outcomes. Oversee high-quality delivery of the summer literacy program, family engagement initiatives, and tutoring support. Measure and report program impact.

Grow Resources -

Lead fundraising by cultivating individual donors, corporate partners, and grant funders. Manage appeals, campaigns, grant writing, sponsorships, community engagement, and brand awareness.

Ensure Financial Health -

Develop and steward responsible financial plans. Track performance, ensure transparency, and maintain compliance with funder requirements. Provide regular financial updates to the Board.

Build Team & Culture -

Recruit, coach, and inspire staff and volunteers. Foster an inclusive, collaborative, and joyful culture aligned to ENHE values and community voice.

Run Great Operations -

Strengthen systems, processes, and administrative functions that support efficiency, compliance, and long-term sustainability.

Partner With the Board -

Collaborate closely with the Board of Directors on strategy, governance, development, and stewardship. Deliver timely updates, insights, and recommendations.
