Job Summary Augusta University's Medical College of Georgia, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, is seeking a Section Chief at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor. The position is a non‑tenure‑track faculty role for an experienced Urogynecologist with outstanding clinical skills and leadership aptitude as Chief of Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery (FPMRS) within the Division of Female Pelvic Medicine & Reconstructive Surgery (FPMRS). The selected candidate will provide direct patient care, teach medical students and residents, and collaborate on clinical research and projects.

Responsibilities

Develop the division’s faculty, emphasizing evidence‑based patient‑centered care and growth in education and research.

Create a culture that supports faculty promotion through clinical research, national service, and scholarly publication.

Provide teaching instruction and supervision to residents, fellows, and medical students.

Deliver lectures to fellows, residents, and medical students as requested.

Participate in Grand Rounds, M&M Conferences, Journal Club, division meetings, and other departmental activities.

Mentor medical students, residents, and fellows.

Required Qualifications

MD, licensed or eligible for license in the state of Georgia with five or more years of applicable clinical and teaching experience; current DEA registration required.

Board certified or eligible in OB/GYN or Urology.

Board certified or eligible in Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery.

Associate Professor: at least five years at the rank of Assistant Professor or comparable training, background, and experience.

Professor: at least five years at the rank of Associate Professor or comparable training, background, and experience.

Compliance with Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) institutional accreditation requirements.

Evidence of teaching effectiveness, scholarly activity, and all other relevant duties.

Desirable personal qualities assessed during interview, including biographical data and recommendations.

Preferred Qualifications

Eagerness to expand the academic and clinical program.

Well‑trained in vaginal, laparoscopic, and robotic pelvic reconstructive surgery.

Commitment to patient safety, quality, education, and innovative clinical research.

Leadership experience.

Shift / Salary / Benefits This position is fiscal‑year based and operates year‑round with a full‑time equivalent (FTE) of 1.0. Salary is commensurate with education, experience, and achievements and is subject to available funds. Comprehensive benefits include medical, dental, vision, 13 paid holidays, vacation leave, sick leave, generous retirement plans, tuition waiver, wellness options, and more. Full‑time employees with more than six months of service may qualify for a Tuition Assistance Program. Rank and salary are determined at hire and based on experience, education, credentials, specialty, training, and market data.

College / Department Information The Medical College of Georgia (MCG) is one of the nation’s largest medical schools by class size, with 260 students per class. The educational experience is anchored by the main campus in Augusta, with regional clinical campuses and a second four‑year campus in Athens in partnership with the University of Georgia. MCG’s collaborations provide about 350 clinical sites for students. The college also offers postgraduate education to over 500 residents and fellows across 50 accredited programs.
